Our AAQI Challenge Quilts May Update

4947 - Transitioning Between the Polarities
Michele M. Bilyeu

The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative May 1-10 Quilt Auction has just ended. Shown above: the only new quilt from our Liberated Quilting Group to be offered for this month's auction. This quilt had a winning bid of $80.00.

My other two (the only other ones for this month from our group) were just placed in the Quilts for Sale on the AAQI website.

4946 - Liberated Rose

4948 - Alzheimer's: It's More Than Black and White

These three quilts are the only new ones from our group to be offered this month. I'd love to see many more be created for the June 1st auction.

The next quilt auction will be on June 1st and will run for 10 days. Auctions always run from that month's 1st to 10th, ending at 10 pm of the 10th. Some of your quilts should be in that one!

Please note:
If you have quilts that have not yet sold from a previous auction, they can be found on the website under Look at All the Quilts Perhaps you can talk someone into buying one or buying one yourself for a friend or family member as a gift.

Supporters have been known to create art galleries of AAQI quilts, either buying back their own favorites or buying those of others that they would love to own or display...at home or at work. It makes a wonderful conversational grouping, as well as a way of showing support for this wonderful cause.

Update on all previous quilts:

When the talented quilters of this Liberated Quilting Blog and the Liberated Quilting Message Board joined forces for the Liberated Quilting "Liberated Challenge", none of us was quite sure what might happen.

What has happened is beautiful quilt magic from a number of incredibly talented and dedicated quilters resulting in some
truly lovely 9" x12" quilts or 4"x 6" postcards!

So far, 24 of our quilts have been featured on AAQI and raised money for Alzheimer's research at the
Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. And an additional number of quilts are currently in the Quilts Waiting Assignment group at AAQI and will be up for sale or auction on May 1, 2010.

The challenge will continue to be open for the remainder of this year. While this Liberated Quilting blog is closed to membership, you do not need to belong to it in order to join this wonderful Liberated Quilting Challenge.

Membership in the Liberated Quilting Message Board is still open, so simply apply to join that group, and still have your quilts featured here!

Donation Quilts to Date:
All of these quilts have previously been registered and offered for auction and/or for sale. Many of them are up for immediate sale.
