Alzheimer's Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope...Knoxsville TN!

I was so deeply touched to receive an email from Julie Sefton today letting me know that the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative's traveling exhibit Alzheimer's Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope had reached Knoxsville, Tennessee!

I truly felt moved to tears to just imagine the enormous amount of energy and heartfelt emotions that must have existed in that exhibition hall and was truly hoping that Julie, herself, might be able to travel instate to see the exhibit and see her own beautiful little quilt on display as part of this amazing collection. She tells me she is still hoping to bring the exhibit nearer to her....go, Julie!

And congratulations Julie for all that you have done for our Liberated Quilting Challenge and for your own contribution of your precious little quilt!

Topsy Turvy Through Many, Many Windows!

Update! # 6032 "In My Garden" by Jan Stone just sold for $35! Thank you, Jan and quilt buyer. Jan is one of our most dedicated quilt creators. She made and donated quilts long before she even joined our group!

I'm just back from the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show 2011 and had such fun seeing so many quilts! It's wonderful to see that modern and liberated quilts are beginning to show up more and more in large venues for quilts and quilters! See:Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show: Diverse, Modern, Liberated and Fun!

But it's lovely to come back and check on all of my favorite spaces and places and see what has been happening in the past weekend!

My Topsy Turvy was list since my last update (above) and sold for $75! Thank you so very much to the wonderful quilt buyer!

But my Bah Humbug! is still for sale ;) It was a real game player, that one..appearing on our page, disappearing and reappearing on another group's page and now, it's on ours but still listed on theirs! And I love their group but am NOT a member. How funny is that! Such a fun and funny little quilt to be page hopping around on one crutch like that ;)

And look at this delightful series!

Awesome Kristin! Kristin Shields is a very talented quilter from Bend, Oregon. No matter what she makes or in what style...her quilts are so lovely! Her "Through the Window" series is so colorful and so beautifully quilted! All but one has sold, I believe and the other might still be available ;)

And the lovely Postmark'd Art cards by Maureen Curlewis all sold during our Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative's AAQI July Auction Lovely, lovely work, Maureen! Congratulations to everyone!!!

But please check out the ones that are still for sale and consider a purchase! And just in case, they disappeared from several posts ago, here are others that sold , or are for sale, recently as well! You have to click on the links to see whether they are for sale or have already sold..and unfortunately the photos dissipate and disappear over time in this format..so look and click quickly ;)
