The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative's Slow and Silent Auction for the month of June is still in progress! The current quilt auction is running from June 1st and will run for 10 days until June 10, 2010. Auctions always run from that month's 1st to 10th, ending at 10 pm of the 10th.
Currently, no member of either of our groups has a quilt in the current auction, but all of the quilts shown above are currently located on the Quilts for Sale page on the AAQI website.
In addition, one Liberated Quilters Group Challenge member ( Michele Bilyeu ;) and one Liberated Blogger,(Julie Sefton...who I am talking into officially joining our challenge!) have had quilts set aside for consideration in the traveling exhibit. Only 50 out of 120 + plus quilts will be selected, so even to be considered is an honor. Those quilts may be viewed here at: Quilts Under Consideration For "Alzheimer's Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope" Exhibit
All Group Challenge and Yahoo members: Please note that our group moderator, Clare has changed the Yahoo groups web link to:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lib-Quilters/
This Liberated Quilting blog, remains the same.
Viewing and Update on all previous quilts:
When the talented quilters of this Liberated Quilting Blog and the Liberated Quilting Message Board joined forces for the Liberated Quilting "Liberated Challenge", none of us was quite sure what might happen.
What has happened is beautiful quilt magic from a number of incredibly talented and dedicated quilters resulting in some truly lovely 9" x12" quilts or 4"x 6" postcards!
So far, 30 of our quilts have been featured on AAQI and raised money for Alzheimer's research at the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. And an additional number (currently 4 quilts all by Kathy E.) are currently in the Quilts Waiting Assignment group at AAQI and will be up for sale or auction on July 1, 2010 or set aside for the Houston quilt show/sale.
Our challenge will continue to be open for the remainder of this year. While this Liberated Quilting blog is closed to membership, you do not need to belong to it in order to join this wonderful Liberated Quilting Challenge. Please remember that a liberating challenge is unique to what is new and different and challenging for you! It does not have to involve pieced letters, wonky houses, or other liberated looks we love to explore in this group! Contact Michele Bilyeu for any questions on this challenge: quiltingjourney@gmail.com
Membership in the Liberated Quilting Message Board is still open, so simply apply to join that group, and still have your quilts featured here! Please address those concerns to Clare.
Donation Quilts to Date:
All of these quilts have previously been registered and offered for auction and/or for sale. Many of them are still up for immediate sale.
