AAQI: September Quilt Auction

The September Online Quilt Auction Starts September 1st and runs through September 10th!

And our Liberated Quilting Challenge member, Jenny Mullens has a quilt in the September quilt auction!! It's it just so dear? This is the kind of tender art quilt that can touch one's heart when you think about all of the variations of it's meaning.

Materials/Techniques: Eco dyed raw silk, muslin, and cheese cloth, eco leaf prints with beading, hand and machine quilting. I used buttonhole stitching for a bamboo skewer type hanging method.
Artist Statement: As I was embroidering the eco printed leaf outlines, I thought of Gerard Manley Hopkins' poem, "Spring and Fall." Our loved ones are "unleaving" and it is "[ourselves] we mourn for."
Dedication: In memory of my father.
