The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI
has reached its amazing goal of ONE MILLION DOLLARS in quilt sales during the Houston International Quilt Festival! And on Halloween Day, no less. What a super, duper treat for all of us who have worked so very hard for this wonderful goal!
A huge congratulations to Ami Simms, and her dedicated bunch of quilters and support personnel! Just Awesome!!!
Now, all further sales, whether in Houston, or online, will just be the icing on the cake, the cherry on top of the sundae, the cream to our coffee..well, you get the drift!
We are over the moon!Diane Petersmarck has been receiving quilt sales tallys from Beth Hartford and other AQQI volunteers, and I am doing my best to report the updated tally, here.
Keep in mind, that sales records are being beaten and wildly surpassed, so our volunteers are very, very busy, promoting sales, managing, sales, putting up new quilts to take the places of those sold, on a non-stop basis.
Can I hear a big round of applause for all of our volunteers? Hip Hip Hooray!!!
