Every time Ami Simms checks the calendar her heart skips a beat. International Quilt Festival is right around the corner. And while we are all SO excited, Ami can't help but be slightly terrified that she and her bevy of volunteers won’t be ready in time.
It’s 10 days and counting…
We need your help, even if you’ll be 1,000 miles from Houston you can help.
1. We don’t have enough WORKERS to staff the booth yet. There are five of us full-timers, but we need at least five more volunteers for each time slot. It’s a huge booth this year with more quilts than we’ve ever tried to sell before. If you’re going to Houston and have 2 to 3 hours in a row to offer, sign up at http://doodle.com/
2. If you can’t spare that much time, or you’re just not sure and want to play it by ear, email me and I’ll put you down for our Text Brigade. Keep your mobile handy and you’ll get a text during the show when we need you. Come if you can. If not, it’s OK. When you email, tell me morning, afternoon, or evening and on what days. Example: Thursday afternoon, Friday afternoon, Saturday morning. Here’s that email: AmiSimms@aol.com.
3. We need more FLYERS. (What we don’t use in Houston we will use at the next showing of “Alzheimer’s Illustrated: From Heartbreak to Hope.”) They’re 8.5″ x 11″.
Print them on white paper, colored paper, black ink, color ink….it
doesn’t matter.

Please cut them apart and stick them in a flat rate priority mailer and ship them to:

The show starts on Halloween for us, but any
time before we head for home would be great. You can hand deliver them
too! Row S, the big noisy booth with 2,185 quilts.
4. We REALLY need STICKERS!
Every time someone buys a quilt, we ask to sticker them. We want them
to become a walking billboard for the AAQI as they wander around the
show. Not all 50,000 people know we’re there! (Hard to believe with all
the hoopin’ and hollerin’.)
Print the stickers on Avery #5260 “mailing
labels” (1″ x 2 and 5/8″ — 30 labels per sheet). OfficeMax has their own
brand, laser or ink-jet. Test by printing one sheet first, thicker
paper or label setting.
(((((Or have OfficeMax print the labels for you.)))))
If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader (preferred), click here. If you don’t, get the free program first. |

4. We have quilts for sale! More will be added before we go to Houston. It would be wonderful to come back to a boatload of orders (which will be processed as quickly as is humanly possible).
5. And finally, friends….we count on YOU to tell YOUR FRIENDS, so they can tell their friends. (Share, copy, email, yell….it’s all good.)
When everybody helps just a little bit I know we can make a huge difference.
Thank you for your help!
